Whether you are an art lover, a history enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique afternoon with fellow alums, the Vassar Club of Chicago invites you to view The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center’s acclaimed exhibition, Paris in Black: Internationalism and the Black Renaissance. Join us for a discussion with Danny Dunson, the DuSable’s Director of Curatorial Affairs and Arts Education, who will share insights into the exhibition and its stories, followed by an opportunity to explore the exhibition and connect with fellow alums. Spanning more than a century, Paris in Black traces the profound journeys of Black artists, writers, performers, and intellectuals who found freedom, inspiration, and transformation in Paris. The exhibition brings together art, photography, archival materials, and other works to explore Paris as a place of artistic refuge, exchange, and possibility for generations of Black creatives. The exhibition also features photography by a Vassar alumna. Please RSVP by Tuesday, September 15. The event will include refreshments. The cost is $5 per person. We would love to see you there and look forward to a wonderful afternoon together! Questions the club at vassarclubchicago@gmail.com Connect with the club on social media!Facebook | Instagram
