As the days are getting shorter and the weather is getting colder the Vassar Club of New York invites you to join us in Brooklyn at the Carreau Club, owned and operated by Aaron Weeks ’03, at 12:00 p.m. ET for camaraderie and sporting competition. We will have an area to ourselves to mingle and play Pétanque. Pétanque is a “boules” sport in the same family as bocce, curling, shuffleboard, and horseshoes. The object of the game is to score points by getting your boule closer to the target than your opponent. Don’t know how to play? Staff will be on hand to teach you this new game that will have you coming back every week! Food and beverages will be available for purchase. We will have a prize for the best Pétanque player!
Aaron Weeks ’03 spent many years in the hospitality industry, including serving as General Manager of the acclaimed M. Wells restaurant in Queens. He is now the owner of Carreau Club, a bar, restaurant, and pétanque club in Brooklyn. Since opening five years ago, Carreau Club has become a gathering place for league play, casual games, private events, and a growing community of pétanque enthusiasts.
