Event Details

Fall foliage is coming! Please join VCNY at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, November 8, for a fall foliage hike at Rockefeller State Park Preserve.

The hike will have about 500 ft of elevation gain over 3 hours and will run approximately 6 miles (give or take).

The paths in Rockefeller State Park Preserve are carriage trails so they are all gravel and can easily fit four people across. We will make sure no one gets left behind or gets lost!

Taking the train from NYC?

Gather at Grand Central around 9:15 a.m.
Take the ~9:25 a.m. train to Croton Harmon which will stop at Tarrytown around ~10:15 a.m.
Depending on how many drivers we have, we will either gather at the Tarrytown train station to start walking as a group, or have drivers meet the folks who came up by train to drive the group to a trail head.
We still start the hike at the intersection of Webber Avenue and Sleepy Hollow Road (near 82-98 Sleepy Hollow Road, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591). Parking is available along the road shoulder at this location.

Hikers should bring a packed lunch to eat. Those who want to stop as a group to get food before getting back on the train or heading home can join for after-hike snacks and food at Grass Roots Kitchen.
